General Questions
What happens after I register for an escape?
- Once your registration form and deposit have been received, you will receive a confirmation email. (Deposits may be paid by personal check, money order, or PayPal. All deposits must be received no later than 7 days after the date of your registration or your spot will be relinquished.)
- Your final balance invoice will be sent, via email, 3- 4 weeks before the final payment due date. (A $25.00 late fee will be applied if payment is received after the due date)
- One week before your escape, you will receive an email with all the information you need for your escape, including information about classes being offered, massage opportunities, etc.
What types of payment do you accept?
Personal checks and Venmo are the preferred methods of payment. Payment through PayPal is also accepted.
Is it possible to set up a payment plan?
Yes, you can customize a payment plan to fit your needs! Send an email to justscrappinescapes@gmail.com with a breakdown of how much you would like to pay and when. Then, leave it to Just Scrappin' to send reminders of when the payments are due.
What time can I arrive to a weekend I've registered for?
Most weekends begin at 10am on Friday. You will not be allowed in the crop room before the start time on Friday, as the vendors will still be setting up for you. Please be respectful of this.
Is the crop room open around the clock?
Yes, the crop room will be open 24/7.
I have never been away to scrapbook for an entire weekend. What should I expect?
Well, be prepared for a new addiction if this is your first time! It is the best avenue to get a TON of pages completed without the distractions of scrapping at home! You will meet new people who share the same love for scrapbooking , be able to shop at the vendor booths, take classes, have a massage, spend hours and hours working on your projects, take time to relax, utilize the work-out facilities, or anything else you choose to do during YOUR escape! You will receive a thank-you gift for attending and have the opportunity to win door prizes! There is a Cricut machine with a library of cartridges for your use and a tool table with a variety of punches and other tools. Just Scrappin' Weekend Escapes are kept low- key with few interruptions and announcements. I promise you will have a FABULOUS time!
What should I pack for a weekend escape?
Here is a checklist of some things you may want to bring:
* Comfy clothes and shoes. You may want to dress in layers depending on the comfort level you desire. It is very difficult to keep the cropping room at a temperature that works for everyone, so layers are best!
*Your scrapbook supplies AND pictures!
*Portable shelf to maximize your table space. You can get them in the kitchen section of Kmart, Walmart, or Target.
*You are welcome to bring a small side table.
*Cricut Mat for use with the Cricut machine. I will have extras for sale, if needed.
*Drink holder & cup with lid to prevent spills on your work or the work of your tablemates.
*Keurig coffee cups or tea bags, with a lidded cup.
*Power strip for your electrical needs (main power is supplied to each group of tables)
*Ott light for additional table lighting
*Earphones if you prefer to listen to your own music
*Extra money to shop at the vendor booths, take classes, or get a massage
Will I have an end seat?
That depends on the table groupings. If there are 6 people in your group and you all want to sit together, it will not be possible for all of you to have an end seat. If there are 8 in your group and you want to be in 2 groups of 4, then yes, you can all have an end seat. Please specify this on the registration form under "special requests". I will try my best to fulfill your requests.
Can I leave all of my belongings in the crop room?
Yes, you may leave your supplies set up for the entire weekend. However, please do not leave electronics and valuable articles unattended. Just Scrappin' Weekend Escapes, LLC, Kathleen Sweeney, and the hotel venue are NOT responsible for anything lost or stolen.
Can I bring my child/teen with me to crop?
For the pleasure of ALL our attendees, everyone must be 21 years of age or older. (Vendors are also not permitted to bring anyone with them under the age of 21).
Do you provide electricity at your weekend escapes?
Power strips are provided at each group of tables. It is recommended that you bring an additional power strip or extension cord to accommodate your personal needs.
Do I need extra lighting?
It is recommended that you bring an Ott light.
Will there be a journaling station?
No, at this time there is not a journaling station.
Will vendors be there to provide scrapbook supplies for purchase?
Yes, there will be two to six vendors at each escape, depending on space and their availability.
Will there be classes offered?
Yes, the vendors offer classes at each escape. You will get an email approximately 1 week prior to the escape detailing the classes being offered. There is an additional fee for classes.
Will there be a massage therapist on site?
Yes, there will be a massage therapist on site for your pampering needs! There is an additional fee for this service. Cash only accepted.
Can I come to shop or visit a friend if I am not registered to attend?
Yes, please come and shop and see what the weekends are all about.
I have an emergency and need to cancel my weekend?
I understand that emergencies arise and sometimes are out of your control. Please see the Cancellation Policy on the registration form of the escape you are canceling. Unfortunately, the $50.00 deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable. There are no refunds for "no shows', as the meeting space and all other expenses have been paid for. Thank-you for your understanding.
I am interested in vending at the weekend escapes? What types of vendors do you allow?
At this time, only scrapbook related vendors are permitted. Currently, Close To My Heart, Massages by Megan, Scrapbook N'Smiles ( mobile scrapbook store), Rockin' Paper & Scissors Page Kits; Thirty-one, and Creative Memories are selected to vend. If you have a scrapbooking related product line and would like to be considered to become a vendor, please contact Kathleen Sweeney at justscrappinescapes@gmail.com
